Jeju travel agency

Jeju is a fascinating destination with many places to explore and stay. In addition to the well-known attractions, the island has many lesser-known spots that are just as beautiful. Here are five of Jeju’s lesser-known tourist attractions, as selected by the Korea Tourism Organisation:

Cheona Forest Trail

Cheona Forest Trail is an autumn foliage hotspot. The Hallasan Circumference Path differs from the Jeju Olle Trail, which follows the coastline. During peak autumn foliage, the Hallasan Circumference Path offers an unmissable trekking experience. Cheona Valley, the first section of the Cheonam Forest Trail that begins at the entrance to the Cheonam Water Source, showcases vibrant autumn foliage. The yellow and red leaves lining the valley are a breathtaking sight. The valley, with minimal water flow, features massive boulders, adding to the grandeur of the scenery.

Since the trail crosses the valley and can be difficult to see, follow the boundary markers. Once you cross the valley, the path continues through the forest with small paths and steps. Note that the mountain closes for two days after rain, so check the weather before visiting. The 10.9 kilometer route takes approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete. It passes through the Doloreum, Norooreum, and Cheonaoreum.

Moses’ Miracle Seogundo

At the southern tip of Jeju Island, this small island lies only 300 meters from the mainland. Seogundo holds archaeological significance, with pottery shards, animal bones, and traces of settlements dating back to the 1st century BC. The island is famous for the phenomenon known as Moses’ Miracle. Here, the sea divides between the mainland and the island 10 times a month, creating a path over 10 meters wide. Visitors can walk to Seogundo from the entrance of Seogundo Village on the 7th leg of the Jeju Olle Trail and explore the exposed tidal flats for clams and octopus. The island has a wooden deck for easy exploration. To witness the miracle of Moses, check the tides in advance at sea-time.com.

Capture the Perfect Shot on ‘Hwansang Bikeway Section 3’

The Jeju Hwansang Bikeway is a cycling route that uses relatively low-traffic coastal roads and the circular road to pass by some of Jeju’s most famous tourist attractions. The bikeway consists of 10 routes. The third section covers approximately 35 kilometers between Mt. Songaksan in western Jeju and Haegeum Village Park. Along the way, you’ll come across attractions such as Panpo Beach, Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road, Suwolbong, Chagui Road, Dajeong Five days market, and Songaksan Mountain.

Many professional cyclists frequent the area. However, you can hire easy-to-use e-bikes along the Sinchang-Windmill Coastal Road. This makes the route accessible to all levels of cyclists. The route also offers great photo opportunities. The sunsets along the Sinchang Coastal Road are breathtaking.

Gimnyeong-Woljeong Coastal Road: A Sunset Spot

Gimnyeong-Woljeong Coastal Road is in the northeastern part of Jeju Island. It is known for its scenic beauty and vibrant sunsets, making it a popular spot for wedding photos. Also known as Windmill Coastal Road due to the wind turbines that line the route, the area bustles with people enjoying water sports such as snorkeling, surfing, sailing, and kayaking. The road is lined with charming cafes, unique restaurants, and cozy guesthouses. It is an ideal place to stop and relax while taking in the ocean views. The sunsets are particularly picturesque and provide a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs. The emerald sea and deep blue sky combine to create breathtaking scenery. This coastal road is famous for its Instagram-worthy views.

Saryeoni Forest Road: A Spectacular View of Dense Cedar Trees

Saryeoni Forest Road, located east of Hallasan Mountain, is one of the most popular sections of the Hallasan Mountain Trail. It stretches from Bijirim-ro in Bonggae-dong, Jeju-si, to Saryeoni Oreum. Most visitors walk the 10-kilometer trail from the entrance to Red Oreum along Namjo-ro to the Saryeoni Forest Trail. The trail has a gentle incline, making it accessible to all. Along the way, you can enjoy the Cedar Forest, Sewatnae Forest, and Meditation Forest, which offer peaceful walks. The Cedar Forest at the start of the trail is a popular spot for wedding selfies due to its straight cedar trees and stunning scenery. The light filtering through the dense cedars is mesmerizing. Saryeoni Forest Trail is known as a wellness and healing forest where you can experience forest ecology and observe the pristine natural environment.
